Up She Goes

Well, no sooner than I wrote my last post she was pulling herself up on everything. And now she is cruising all around from furniture to furniture. Every now and then she gets a little brave and will let go, only to fall to the ground laughing. What a daredevil! It still amazes me how kids are amused by the silliest things. But that is what keeps parenthood interesting.

Let’s see what is she up to now? Well, she is learning how to mimic mommy and daddy by playing peek-a-boo and making funny faces. She likes to scrunch up her nose and breathe in and out real heavy like a pig without the snort. And her other thing she likes to do is what we call “raspberries” with her mouth. Make sure you cover your face if you don’t want a shower with Leisa slobber. Things can get quite messy; especially when she thinks its fun to do while she eats. Like I’ve said before she likes to keep me busy. She has also learned how to wave bye-bye. We have to be mindful when we say it because she knows what it means. She starts to get excited and waves her hand and she is ready to go (Just don’t tell her she has to go in her car seat). As for her nine month checkup last week, the doctor says she is doing great. Weighing in at 20 pounds and 27 inches tall. She is holding steady in the 75th percentile. No shots this time so we were all happy! But we aren’t off the hook, she has to have routine blood work done and we are not looking forward to that. I am sure you will be hearing about that. Have I mentioned how much we love her? We love her so much!!!

I do have to apologize for it taking me so long to fill you in on the latest news. Things have been a little hectic with our new house beginning construction. Oh…did I forget to mention we are having a house built? I told you we were going to need a bigger house just for all of Leisa’s stuff. I wasn’t lying. Looks like we will be moving sometime this summer. Not far from where we are now; same zip code. This way we will still be close to all of our family and Leisa’s little friends. The good thing is we will have more space and room to breathe. The bad thing is we will have more space for Leisa to run around and get into trouble. Yes, I said trouble. She already tries to crawl away as fast as she can when she is getting into something she is not supposed to. That’s our little stinker!
