Food For the Soul

Looks like we have an 18 pounder on our hands. If only she were a turkey, we would be all set for Thanksgiving. Can’t say I have ever seen a turkey as juicy as her. YUM! Our little (not so little) butterball sure is growing fast. We are still waiting for her to grow more vertical instead of horizontal, but I don’t see that happening anytime in the near future. Her doctor is very happy with her progress and that is all that matters to us. We love our little chunky monkey just the way she is. She is ranking above average in her height (26 1/8”) and her weight (18lbs.), which is really good considering she was born four weeks early. That worked in my favor. And now back to our favorite topic…food! We had to give her a break from her cereal for a while because it was bothering her tummy, and after things settled down a little she was able to have it again. And good thing, she was not a happy camper. We couldn’t go near that high chair without her getting mad. I tried to put her in it one day so she could play while I cleaned the kitchen but she was not having any part in that. Lets just say I won’t be doing that again. I should have known better, being that she belongs to this family. We don’t like change, nor do we like our food being messed with. So to say the least she was very very happy when we started her back on it. Except for when I mixed it with water. There was a little gagging action going on with that one. What can I say; she likes her mommy’s milk. For being such a good sport about everything, we decided it was time to add a little variety to her menu so we started her on some vegetables. She got to have green beans for a week and this week she has started on her peas. So far she seems to really like both of them. She eats like her daddy so I’m not too sure she even gets a chance to taste it before she swallows and moves on to the next bite. Her personality is developing more and more everyday. She keeps us entertained with all her little quirks. And they just keep on coming.
