With Time Comes Change

Why does it seem like every time I turn around she learns something new. You really don’t get a whole lot of time to get used to something before they throw something new at you. I would sure like to have a word with the mastermind behind this whole plan. Why do they have to grow up so quick? Can’t they just stay small forever? Oh wait…then how would she have gotten here in the first place? Ahh…the cycle of life. Isn’t it a beautiful thing? I would have to say yes. Even though she is growing up so quick right in front of our eyes, I still wouldn’t change a thing about it. When I stop and think about it, I realize how truly blessed I am to be the one who gets to chase her around all day. Sometimes we just need to be smacked with a dose of reality to see the big picture. Being a Stay At Home Mom really is the best job there is. At least in my book. And for all of you other moms out there, we really can’t complain about how rough we have it. Because if you stop to think about it, it is actually a piece of cake compared to what it was in the old days (no, I am not calling anyone old). Come on ladies, we have disposable diapers! WOOHOOO!!! (I sure would have liked to have been the one to invent those.) What more could we possibly have to complain about? After all, this is what we signed up for. So we have to make the best of it and enjoy it because this is what life is all about.
Ok enough with the advice column lets get to what I really came here to talk about…the little one (not so little anymore). Like I started saying earlier before I started rambling. She is learning new tricks every time I turn around. Since she mastered the art of crawling she has moved on to what she considers bigger and better things…standing. She can’t stand alone yet, but she is trying to pull herself up onto everything. She just can’t seem to push up with that one leg. Of course we are in no hurry for her to figure it out. The longer the better. She loves to just stand up and hold onto her little activity wall. She thinks she is such a big girl when she does that. She is also learning how to pick up all the little fuzzes and whatever else may be lurking around on the floor. It’s amazing what she can find. I’m still trying to figure out where it comes from. And can you believe we still have not finished baby proofing. That’s ok though, I watch her like a mad woman. Marco tells me I am being overprotective, but that is a mommy’s job. Although I don’t think you ever stop baby proofing. You just call it something different as they get older (like locking the liquor cabinet). We still have a while before we have to deal with that. Let’s see how much she can get into until the next time we talk. Plenty I’m sure!
