Thankful We Are

Words cannot describe how blessed and happy we are to be able to share in the joys of parenthood as we spent our first Thanksgiving with our daughter. She really is a blessing! We are so thankful to have her here with us. She has enriched our lives in so many ways, and given us a new meaning and purpose in life. We are thankful for the role that each and every one of you plays in her life as well as ours. May she bring as much joy and happiness to you as she does us.

Ok, enough of the mushy stuff. Before I cooked the ham for Thanksgiving we decided to torture the other ham and put her in the roasting pan and take pictures. She is such a good sport. I think she had just as much fun with it as we did. You will have to visit her other website to see all the pictures. We then had to split the day with both families, and goody for us we got to eat twice! I had so much fun dressing her up in her little dress and tights. Yes I did say tights. Can you believe they actually fit over her thighs? She looked cute as ever and surprisingly enough she kept her dress clean all day. I am so proud. All in all, we had a wonderful Thanksgiving and plenty to be thankful for.

Now lets move on to how the little ham is doing. She is getting around pretty well these days. Not crawling yet, but I am sure that will happen any day now. She likes to get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. This results in her crawling backwards. I guess they call that the army crawl, or something like that. She is very good at turning herself around and getting to things she wants. I think we are past due baby proofing the house. She is making progress on sitting up by herself. It is only when SHE wants to. I think she is getting too used to the idea of mommy doing everything for her. I am working on trying to break her of that. We have also added to her menu selections. As of now she is eating green beans, peas, carrots, sweet potatoes and bananas along with her cereal. I don’t think we are going to have any trouble getting this one to eat her veggies. She is definitely a good eater. Well that is it for now. We are going to put up the Christmas tree now. I wonder how much trouble she can get into with that?

Leisa, you're grandma's little butterball, meatball and chunky dolly all in one and I love you sooo much. And since your parents have you in the roasting pan I am going to ask your Dad to stop telling me I tramatized him when he was little. I used to tell him I was going to put him in the oven & cook him and eat him up because he was so cute. Now he know's what I was talking about!

You all bring such joy to my life and I am so thankful for that!

    Grandma Carmen
