Opening Night

The time has finally come to introduce our little angel to cereal for the first time. It was quite an interesting, and of course, a very exciting event! The cameras were rolling and on came the food. Literally! At first she wasn’t too sure what to think of it, but once she realized she could eat it, I couldn’t spoon it into her mouth fast enough. She even started leaning in for it. That’s my little piggy! I think there was more of it on her than actually went in her mouth. We will have to work on the technique a little bit, but I don’t think we will get any objections for more out of this little meatball. Speaking of which, she went to the doctor this week to get her second round of shots. YUK! I think it is worse for us than it is for her. I cry longer than she does( It turns out she is not as meaty as we thought she was; only weighing in at 14lbs. 12 oz. I swear she feels heavier than that (or maybe I am just out of shape). She is also 24 inches long now, which is above average, so I am not to sure whom she is going to take after in that department yet. Hopefully her daddy. All in all, the doctor says she looks great! We get to start her on solids in about 2 months, so I am looking forward to seeing those funny faces.

Leisa,
Grandma Carmen can't believe "you ate the whole thing." I swear I thought Mommy made you too much. But the baby bear said "it was just right" and ate it all up.
Just so you know, when you scrunch up your chubby little face, you look exactly like your Daddy did when he was your age.
And after seeing your Mommy's baby pictures I think we can be assured that you are going to have lots of meat for us to kiss and pinch for some time to come.
I love you, xxxx
